RH Solutions recrute un Deputy Operations Manager – Maritime

We are looking for a Senegalese Deputy Operations Manager (Maritime) for our client in Maritime Oil & Gas sector.

Responsibilities

Your mission as Deputy Operations Manager is to assist the Operations Manager in the execution of the duties.

The Deputy Operations Manager – Maritime is responsible for:

• Report directly to the Operations Manager on technical issues on board the vessel.
• Responsible on day-to-day basis, for the daily operational readiness of the assigned vessel by coordinating closely with the Operations Manager.
• Familiar with all vessels’ maker of engine.
• Ensure the fuel consumption of all the vessel is followed as per the benchmark set by the company.
• Provide technical advice in operational matters to support decision making.
• Provide technical management advice to superintendents, vessel captains and chief engineers.
• Ensure vessels and equipment are properly maintained in accordance with PMS.
• Develop and maintain excellent vendor relationship for service support to the fleet.
• Work together with Operations, Purchasing, Accounts and Crewing and HSE Unit on day-to-day basis to ensure full operations of the fleet.
• Plan and mobilize technical superintendents to meet job demands.
• Priorities tasks and ensure efficient allocation of available resources.
• Plan and execute routine and emergency dry decking as well as major repair of the vessel.
• Assist in the preparation of vessel performances & technical compliance to satisfy chartered and client demands.
• Participate and ensure compliance of Company Safety Management System for office and vessels.
• Responsible for effective day to day supervision and monitoring of the crew on board the assigned vessel and ensuring vessel comply with the required Minimum Safe Manning Requirement of the Flag State, and are fully crewed with fit, able, competent, and certificated vessel staff.
• Update to all related units in Marine Operation Department on vessel’s availability at port.
• Monitor the assigned vessel on the closing status of all findings/observations/non-conformances issued by the charterer, client or auditor and update them regularly.
• Analyze trending on findings/observations issued during OVID assessment to the vessel.
• Assist Marine and Operation Unit as and when required.
• Participate and ensure compliance of Company Safety Management System for office and vessels.

Requirements

• Graduate in Maritime Management and / or shipping and logistics (Licence 3) or equivalent.
• 4 years’ work experience, preferably in maritime, shipping and logistics.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills with an analytical mind
• Able to work independently and under pressure.
• Proactive, result-driven and possesses good knowledge in marine operations.
• Supervisory and team leading skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Self-motivation and resilience.
• Knowledge & understand maritime regulatory requirements.
• Proficient in spoken and written English, French and Wolof.
• Competent in using MS Office Applications, Excel, word, power point, Power BI.
