DESCRIPTION
Payments Expert focuses on building and deploying innovative solutions to enable process cross border transactions for all kind of customers. In a few words, our goal is to modernize account-based payments around the world.
The Payments Expert will conduct an analytical review of the local current payment systems in the region and coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders in order to launch the service in the designed country.
He/she will lead aspects of Real-time Payments (RTP) Strategy, Go-to-Market, Business Operations and Product planning within the Global RTP team. The role will directly engage with clients and cross-functional teams within Product and across Ria towards a common goal of delivering integrated products and solutions for account based real-time payment networks.
The role includes understanding market and client needs, identifying opportunities, and developing market positioning, client and internal business cases, value propositions and targeted messaging across financial institutions, processors, technology and fintech companies, businesses, partners and more.
The successful candidate will be a proven strategist and business operator who likes to dig into the details and take on ownership in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
In addition, the candidate must be highly collaborative, a great communicator, customer oriented and bring a structured & disciplined approach. The position can be based anywhere in the Africa region.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct detailed mapping of the selected country current payment system.
• Develop a work-plan, including benchmarks and tasks to be achieved during the preparation phase.
• Identify major gaps and concerned parties in the payment system and the time and money it takes to perform the switch.
• Develop a detailed report on issues and challenges of local payment systems.
• Collaborate as appropriate with banking partners and local authorities.
• Stay on top of local regulatory/licensing requirements and how it impacts our business.
• Work closely with merchants and commercial team, focusing on the development of key products.
• Maintain personal networks, participate in professional organizations, attend conferences and industry events.
• Stay on top of local regulations and engage with regulators in case it is necessary.

Compétences et expérience souhaitées

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Capacity to work independently, with light supervision. Set up own objectives.
• Demonstrated analytical skills, experience working in payment systems industry (particularly with including RTP capabilities) in different countries in the region.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively network with stakeholders, handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and track and report on progress.

WORK EXPERIENCE
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience working on implementing payment system processes based on RTP technology.
• Extensive experience managing stakeholder relationships at senior levels and in an international (regional) environment.
