The starting salary package for this position is £37,928 GBP / approx. $47,558 USD including all allowances.
About MAG
MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international humanitarian organisation based in Manchester, UK, and working in 32 countries. We remove landmines and unexploded ordnance to release safe and productive land for communities, and work to reduce the threat of armed violence by supporting governments to safely manage weapons and ammunition. In 1997, MAG was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for our work campaigning for the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.
About the role
Under the management of the Regional Programme Support Manager, you will coordinate the development and management of a portfolio of grants, including contract management aspects of MAG’s international, regional and national partners in the region. You will act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholder queries relating to these grants and ensure information is managed and disseminated appropriately. You will also support the region with business development through the development of high quality concept notes and proposals in close coordination with the region’s programmes. The base location for the role will be Dakar, with regular travel throughout the Sahel & West Africa region. This as a great opportunity to play a vital part in MAG’s life-saving work.
About you
You will have worked overseas in an international development setting and be able to build, manage and develop solid relationships with donors, government bodies and other key stakeholders. This will include demonstrable skills and experience of producing high quality donor reports and proposals. In addition to strong grants management experience, you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as effective planning, organisational and project management skills. You be self-motivated, flexible and able to work diplomatically. Knowledge of the Mine Action sector is also desirable.

MAG supports the development of countries emerging from conflict by finding and destroying the explosive remnants of war, so that communities can raise their families and pursue their livelihoods in a safe and secure environment, free from fear of death or injury. The main area of focus in MAG’s programmes across West Africa is Weapons and Ammunition Management (WAM), working with national defence and security authorities towards the safe storage, management and destruction of weapons and munitions.
