Amnesty International recrute Senior Campaigner
Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of Amnesty International’s (AI’s) worldwide campaigning and advocacy strategies on the criminalization of sexuality and reproduction, including the criminalization of abortion, sex work, adolescent sexuality, same-sex conduct, as well as addressing other gender justice concerns that are a priority for AI including gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive rights and LGBTI rights. Monitor developments at inter-governmental organisations and in other relevant forums relevant to human rights standards, policies and practices, especially related to these areas, and identify opportunities for pro-active engagement in collaboration with the relevant AI Programmes, Offices and Sections. Provide advice to country and thematic specialists in the International Secretariat (IS), and other AI entities, in order to maximize movement-wide and external impact.

ABOUT YOU:
**An enthusiastic, and strategic campaigner with substantial experience developing and implementing campaigns at national, regional or global levels. You will have very good knowledge of key gender justice issues of our time, and in particular around specific issues connected to the criminalisation of sexuality and reproduction (including sex work, abortion, same-sex conduct, sex outside marriage, adolescent sexuality and beyond), including from a human rights perspective. You will be comfortable working on the key thematic areas as outlined above and be able to apply an intersectional lens in developing campaign strategies. You will use innovative and creative campaigning, including digital tools and communication techniques to inspire online and offline activism, collaborate with partners and appeal to new audiences. You will also enjoy giving advice to colleagues to support others develop strong gender justice work.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To lead on the development, implementation and evaluation of advocacy strategies on a transnational and global basis; as part of this, managing and coordinating actions on human rights concerns related to criminalization of sexuality and reproduction, specifically, as well as AI priority gender justice concerns (sexual and reproductive rights, gender-based violence and LGBTI rights) – more broadly. Ensuring such advocacy is timely, has clear objectives and plans, targets the right actors, and delivers impact;
- To coordinate with AI membership structures to develop movement-wide campaigning strategies and action; coordinate relevant thematic network/s in order that the movement’s resources are aligned and that our campaigning activities start with common objectives, targets the appropriate actors and thus achieve greater impact;
- To provide expert advice on criminalization of sexuality and reproduction issues specifically and gender justice issues more broadly to AI staff, sections/structures, and other AI membership bodies in order to ensure accuracy and relevance, and the integration of these issues into AI’s work;
- To originate and contribute to advocacy and campaigning materials, campaign ‘action circulars’ and guidance, reports briefings, policy position papers, correspondence, action materials, press releases, op-eds, blogs, webpages, and other internal and external documents to facilitate the effective implementation of AI’s agreed strategies on criminalization of sexuality and reproduction issues specifically and priority gender justice issues more broadly;
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive knowledge of international human rights law and standards, with a particular emphasis on application of these standards to sexual and reproductive rights, and wider gender justice concerns more broadly, including from an intersectional perspective, gained through professional experience and relevant academic qualifications;
- Proven experience of leading and implementing advocacy and campaign strategies on human rights and mobilizing diverse actors to a common goal;
- Extensive experience of international advocacy from a human rights perspective focused on criminalization of sexuality and reproduction and gender justice, including particular issues within the focus of this role including the criminalisation of sex work, abortion, same sex conduct, sex outside marriage and adolescent sexuality;
- Ability to identify and exploit international opportunities to pursue AI objectives and goals and to analyse implications for current plans;
